Job Title: Head of Legal
Location: Malta, Hybrid
Reporting to CEO & Co-Founders

The Role
We are seeking a Head of Legal to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our structure and operations comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, while guiding the business through the evolving legal landscape. If you have at least 10 years of legal experience with an in-depth understanding of gaming laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly those in Curacao, keep reading.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in the company structure & operations.
• Monitor changes in legislation and provide guidance on potential impacts to the business.
• Work with external counsel / law firm as needed and develop strategies to minimise legal risks.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure all licensing and reporting requirements are met. 
• Represent the company in regulatory matters, hearings, and negotiations.
• Contract Management, oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure all contracts are legally sound and aligned with the company’s best interests.
• Manage and oversee any litigation, arbitration, or other dispute resolution processes involving the company.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the company’s operations and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to manage and reduce risk.

What You Bring

• Legal Expertise: At least 10 years of legal experience, with substantial involvement in the iGaming industry.
• Educational Background: Holder of a law degree.
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage legal teams and oversee complex legal matters.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of gaming laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly those in Curacao, MGA, and Estonia.
• Ideally locally based in Malta.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and ethical standards.
• Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions.
• Effective leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in risk assessment and management.
• Expertise in regulatory compliance.
