Job Title: Wordpress Developer - reporting to Head of Engineering
Location: Fully remote from Southeast Asia (B2B contract - fulltime/long term)

The Role

We are seeking a talented WordPress Developer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and optimizing a portfolio of over 30 websites. You will lead the technical migration of these sites in-house, manage server transitions, and take ownership of the entire website lifecycle—from code-level troubleshooting and optimization to content updates and maintenance. This is a hands-on role that requires strong development skills (80%) combined with CMS and content management oversight (20%). You will work closely with designers, marketers, and engineers to ensure seamless website performance, security, and scalability while contributing to the strategic evolution of our digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch or using Elementor page builder.
• Maintain and improve existing websites, ensuring optimal performance, SEO, and responsiveness.
• Work closely with the design and marketing teams to turn mockups and ideas into functional, dynamic websites.
• Implement tracking, performance, and optimization tools such as Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and caching plugins.
• Integrate APIs and third-party services when needed.
• Manage site migrations, backups, updates, and staging environments.
• Ensure all code meets accessibility, security, and performance standards.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing WordPress websites.
• Proficient in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, and MySQL.
• Experience with WordPress page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery) and custom development.
• Solid understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, and template hierarchy.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Basic knowledge of DNS, domain management, and tools like Cloudflare.
• Comfortable with debugging and browser developer tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Nice to Have


• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment workflows.
• Design skills or familiarity with Figma/Adobe XD.
• Understanding of Core Web Vitals and web performance optimization.
