Job Title: Lead Frontend Developer
Hybrid from The Quad in Mhriehel - Malta (3 days / week)

The Role

We’re on the lookout for a Lead Frontend Developer to join a fast-moving crypto casino that’s pushing the boundaries of online gaming. 

In this role, you’ll take the reins on frontend development (Next.js), guiding technical decisions, mentoring other devs, and writing solid, scalable code yourself. It’s a mix of leadership and hands-on work — around 40% leading and mentoring, and 60% building and coding alongside the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the development team through all stages of the software development lifecycle — from design to deployment.
• Lead technical decision-making and architecture design to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Provide technical feasibility assessments and accurate time estimations for tasks and projects.
• Write clean, efficient, and high-quality code using modern web development technologies.
• Ensure the delivery of stable and readable code with long-term maintainability in mind.
• Act as a mentor to junior developers, share knowledge, and contribute to an improved onboarding process.
• Continuously improve your own technical expertise and inspire the same among your peers.
• Work closely with the Head of Engineering to craft robust software and define the technical roadmap.

What You Bring

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a track record of leadership and hands-on development.
• Advanced proficiency in modern frontend frameworks, especially Next.js, and component libraries.
• Strong understanding of responsive UX/UI principles and best practices.
• Experience with essential tools like Git, SSH, NPM/Yarn, Webpack, JIRA.
• Ownership mentality — you're comfortable taking responsibility for features, making key decisions, and resolving issues efficiently.
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and contribute to collaborative development environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design maintainable solutions to complex challenges.
