Job Title: Accountant
Location: 3 days/ week from the Quad (Mhriehel, Malta)
Reporting to the Finance Manager

The Role

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Accountant to join our team and oversee financial management and accounting for a crypto casino. This role requires not only expertise in traditional finance and accounting but also a deep understanding of the unique aspects of crypto accounting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and be able to navigate the complexities of crypto financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting functions such as journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
• Monitor cryptocurrency transactions, including buying, selling, and transferring crypto assets, ensuring accurate and timely accounting.
• Full P&L ownership. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and safeguard crypto and fiat assets.
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams to ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements, both for fiat and cryptocurrency.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
• Work with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Operations to support financial planning and resource allocation.
• Lead or contribute to projects involving process improvement, automation, and implementation of accounting software solutions.
• Assist in all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance.

What You Bring

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or ACCA certification is a plus.
• Proven experience as an accountant in the online casino industry, experienced with crypto accounting, including the tracking and reporting of digital assets.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations, with the ability to apply them to crypto transactions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
• Experience with financial reporting, tax filing, and audit processes, including crypto-related tax matters.
• Proficient in accounting software and tools such as Xero; experience with blockchain analytics tools is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) as they apply to crypto transactions.
