Location: Hybrid - Birkirkara, Malta (3 days per week in office)

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior legal partner to leadership and internal teams, providing definitive legal strategy and risk assessment for local operations.

• Act as the primary liaison for local authorities, lead high-level negotiations and ensure strategies align with evolving labor laws.

• Lead the drafting, negotiation, and final approval of high-value commercial agreements and complex employment structures, ensuring total alignment with Maltese Law, EU Directives, and global corporate governance.

• Conduct sophisticated legal analysis to provide actionable legal opinions on complex business initiatives.

• Own the lifecycle of corporate documentation and board resolutions, implement rigorous internal controls to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure executive-level accountability.

What You Bring

• Significant experience practicing as an In-House Counsel or Senior Associate, specifically within the FinTech, Payments, or iGaming sectors.

• Deep understanding of Maltese Employment Law and Regulatory Compliance.

• Native or professional fluency in Maltese and English is mandatory, with the ability to draft legal agreements and negotiate in both languages.

• Experience selecting and implementing LegalTech solutions to drive departmental efficiency.

• Ability to manage senior stakeholders and drive project completion.

• Law Degree or equivalent degree

• Experience in scale-up environments where work volume and regulations shift rapidly
