The Purpose
Analyse product requirements, design specs, and user stories to create thorough test cases and scenarios.
Build and maintain the Playwright E2E suite in TypeScript, working alongside the frontend team's Vitest unit testing standards.
Integrate automated tests into CI as quality gates on GitHub Actions, so every pull request runs against a reliable, fast suite.
Test the component library and design system implementation for visual consistency, interaction states, and accessibility.
Track performance against agreed Core Web Vitals targets (LCP, INP, CLS) and flag regressions before they reach production.
Verify SEO fundamentals across pages, including metadata, structured data, canonical tags, and sitemap output.
Check accessibility, responsive behaviour, and cross-browser consistency across desktop and mobile.
Test pages across different rendering strategies (SSR, SSG, ISR) to catch hydration issues, stale content, and caching problems.
Mock and stub API responses in Playwright to test loading, error, and edge-case states.
Explore the product proactively for edge cases, visual issues, and behaviour the specs did not anticipate.
Log, track, and manage defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, recordings, and browser console or network logs.
